Big Jim thunderchild
«

I am thinking about buying a Thunderchild and i have two questions.
1. I don't buy a bow till I have seen one so , is their anyone on this site who lives in Kansas or Missouri near Kansas City?
2. Does this bow have early draw weight? I am not sure that is the proper description. For instance, when you begin the draw, it begins hard then smooths out?
Thanks

While I have no answers for you, I do have a deposit on one now so looking forward to a Thunderchild conversation!

You are talking about 'pre load' as far as draw....
Hold on.... be right back...

Big Jim has always had a booth at the Tennessee Classic in western TN. Well worth the trip if you've never been there.

OK, I had one for a while and loved it. I only sold it because someone begged me for it.....
It had ZERO negatives for me. I killed a hog with in on its debut with the 1st shot on game.
'Load' is normal. Not too light, and not too heavy.... medium/average/normal would be my description.
My bow was just like the two I had commissioned in this thread which are Thunderstick MOABS. The same woods were used in my Thunderchild.... absolutely stunning!!!

Jim goes to a LOT of shoots, so give him a shout if you find one near you to see if he's attending.

I'm sure that Jim's curves are the BOMB but let's keep this on track. The original poster is talking about a Thunderchild LONGBOW.
I wish I had one that was a TD at around #50.... with the same woods I posted earlier. Maybe I need to order another one!!! Yes, they are that good.

Yes, have to say. I’ve wanted a thunderchild for a few years now. I’ve been trying to experience a few of the different bows. I have an asl. A r/d in 62”. A 62” recurve. Wouldn’t mind trying shorter lengths or even longer lengths of the last two types. A thunderchild would likely fill the shorter r/d bow. I wanted to feel the differences. Different types of bows are an addiction. With all that said. I too would love a thunderchild. The aggressive curves, short stature and often times the wood combinations with fit and finish really wanting one myself for some time. I wish I wasn’t working this year during etar. I’d love to get down to that just so I could see these things in person
