I was out in the backyard doing some shooting this afternoon and saw a kickball in the yard. Two doors over has some youngins and I knew the ball wasn't my boys. (I am quite often sending stuff back over their way). So I wind back and give a mighty boot to send it back over. CRACK!!! My right foot stops dead. I though I had kicked a rock sticking out under the grass or something and my foot was throbbing. SO I bend over to pick-up the ball and much to my surprise it's a BOWLING BALL!!!!

I did a little more shooting before the swelling set in still hoping to get out after the birds tomorrow. Right now the foot is heavily iced.

Strange things can happen when shooting in the backyard. Have a story to share?

:biglaugh:  Not to laugh at your pain my friend, but it is funny in retrospect. Hope you can go knock them dead tomorrow.

Guess you figured out why they don't use bowling balls for soccer. Hope your foot gets well quickly. Found out my old piece of truck axle that I use for an anvil wasn't a piece of old bear target foam. Don't care what kind of arrow you're proud of, it ain't that tough. Good shot though.

I thought you were going to shoot the kickball. Lucky you didn't! I didn't forget your knife by the way, I'm gettin' to it.

KICKBALLS are usually softer looking!  Need to get your eyes checked, when you go have your foot put in the cast!

Is Obama around??

Who the hell paints up a bowling ball to look like a kickball? I think you should find a way to get even with whoever you imagine is responsible.  :D
And they carefully laid it with the holes down, too. Insidious!

Killdeer~I hope nothing's broken. Could lead to nothing but gutterballs.
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;

I was taking some plates back to the kitchen one night and decided to try to mess with the cat on the way and ended up dancing around him since they have a way of staying one small step in front of ya.  Anyway as I'm dancing around with two hands full of plates I (being a klutz) kicked an energizer box of assorted batteries.  It had 4 D's, 4 C's, 12 AA's, 8 AAA's and 2 9v's.  Needless to say I kicked it across the room and instantly felt the pain.  I sank to the ground and started to hold my foot...wife was laughing so hard and my foot hurt so much I couldn't get the words out to tell her to stop. (actually I cleaned that last thought up)

Ended up breaking my second to last toe in two spots (doc said he was impressed since it was in two spots and not just one), whole front half of my foot was black and blue for close to 2 weeks.  Still want to kill that stupid bunny when I see the commercials.

Ouch. i dont know about that but the other night my baby sister was playing with a cast iron skillet in the kitchen and after she went to bed it somehow got left in the floor. The lights were off and i couldnt see. the next thing i know, I'm yelling in pain in the floor  :help:   at 10 o'clock at nite with dad rollin around laughing. I guess u could say I was in pain for a few hours.
