About 70 years ago I eagerly awaited my Sports Afield, Outdoor Life, and Field and Stream magazines. From one of them, I ordered a Malibu Archery catalogue. After looking it over thoroughly, I finally ordered an all bamboo bow that I used until I joined the army. it was a "Wildcat" model, and it was light in the hand, pulled at 40#@ 28", and had great cast. It was my constant companion in the woods and fields around the house.
Malibu Archery sold Pearson and Bear bows, but for an eleven year old, the "Wildcat" fit the budget. One of the first things that I ask about, after leaving the army, was where was my bow? That's when I found out that one of my brothers friends saw the bow, and strung it. Only thing was, he strung it backward, pulled it, and caused it to explode. It broke my heart to find this out. I have owned and shot lots of bows, but that combination of lightweight, accurate, and cast were unmatched. I now own a Cougar, and Panther bow from Malibu, but still looking for a Wildcat.
