One Month on the Wagon!
« on: May 24, 2008, 10:52:00 PM »
Today marks one month since I viewed my last classified here on Trad Gang.  I had to swear off the classifieds because too many packages were showing up in my PO Box.  Longbows hanging in my garage/shop seemed to be multiplying with new ones showing up every few months--not to mention a bin that seemed to be sprouting wood shafts.

Maybe next week I'll try bidding on some St. Judes auction items.  I hope it doesn't cause me to fall off.

Mike

Slim,

The best way to keep from buying bows, is to.....

wait for it.....

start building them!  Once you've built your own bow that's a shooter, hard to want to plunk down money for someone else's handiwork.

Of course the packages start rolling in from Binghams then....LOL!

Or, he could donate some of them to the St. Jude's Auction!!! You'll be doing good and making your wife happy.

Sorry Mike, I just had to go for it.

Dude, if you could put that resistance in the form of a patch...you would be a rich man.

Just think, then you could hang there day and night...

SOS--I tried returning your PM but your mailbox is full!

Larry--I went to Buddy's when I was in Annapolis a few year's back.  Is it still there?  Eating is another of my vises.  That's why elk season can't get here soon enough so I can lose a few pounds.

Here's a couple of pix of some things I picked up on the classifieds before I gave it up:

This is a 15 Anniversary Big Horn Ram Hunter Longbow--62" and 62#@28".  It shoots very nice.

And here are some tapered cedar shafts I got from the TG classifieds.  They are nock and point tapered with a Wood Chuck I got here and the feathers were burned with a Young Burner that was also purchased here.  They will be carried this fall in a Cat Quiver IV that I got from the classifieds.  And I will pull the string back with a buffalo Big Shot glove I got here as well--not to mention the custom armguard I bought here too.  Oh, and I'll be wearing a Day One fleece pullover purchased in the clothing section.  The arrows will be tipped with one of the many 160 grain Grizzly heads I purchsed last year from the TG classifieds.

Am I hooked or what?  It's a wonder I was ever able to shoot my longbow or hunt at all before I discovered the classifieds.  I actually have been shooting and hunting with trad equipment for more than 20 years--even making arrows and strings.  I just didn't know I needed all this extra stuff until I discovered Trad Gang.

Mike
