Which broadhead/knife sharpening system?

Need some advice on broadhead and or knife sharpening systems. Which do you use and what are the pros and cons?

I am pretty good with my DMT diamond sharpeners but they are more suited for the pack than in home use. Also have used the Accu sharper and Simmons sharpener with good success but just looking for something to keep on the work bench to get that hair popping edge.

I use the KME knife sharpening kit. They are a sponser here. This is the best sharpening system I have ever used for my knives and 2 blade broadheads. Give Ron a call or drop him an e mail. He will get back to you ASAP.

I use the Gatco knife sharpening kit.
It has a clamp to ensure your knife is the right angle to the sharpening stone so that you get the correct edge. My kit has 3 stones - course, medium, and fine. I find that I can get my knives sharper than anything else with this sharpening kit!

Another vote for KME.

I bought one of Ron's knife sharpeners at Whittingham this year, and have since gotten rid of all the other sharpeners I had. My knives have never been so sharp! You can also use it for broadheads, but I went with Ron's broadhead jig because of a trick he showed me for sharpening the Grizzlys I shoot using his jig.

I had a GATCO setup and it worked well also. (Just not quite as easy as the KME) If you're currently in the market I have it up for bid in the St. Jude's auction. That way both you and THE KIDS will benefit.

Guess I'm just old fashioned...use a good file and a cermamic rod!  So sharp when you pull it out the molecules in the air split!

What you worried 'bout anyway...you still in the sand box...aren't ya!?

like  JAG i use a file and asteel but i finish it off with a leather strop sharp as.

I'm a big fan of the KME system!!!

Ron is a great guy and he stands behind his product. Everyone I know that owns a KME sharpening system raves about how much they love it!

Ron himself is a true gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. Even if I didn't think the KME was the best there is (which by the way I do!), I would deal with Ron and KME. Quite simply he makes an outstanding product and he is the kind of person I want to do business with.

KME is the most sophisticated and thus "best" sharpener I've so far encountered. The genius incorporated in that "simple little tool" is staggering to a technological Neandertal like me. Ah, but how then did I/we get by -- knifes, broadheads, axes, tools -- with just a file and Arky stone for more than half a century? Easy ... I was better at (almost) everything when I was younger. So at home these days it's KME. In the field it's a diamond bar and one of those crossed carbon-stick thingies I've never really figured out what properly to call. And if I were still smart enough to carry only carbon-steel knives, in a pinch, I could still touch up a blade on a hunk of sandstone. "Everything in life is relative ...except relatives." dave

I own the broadhead sharpener but have seen the knife sharpener(which will do both) at work as well.To repeat whats already been stated, Ron is one of the good guys.

For me, the Spyderco Sharpmaker is the greatest invention since beer.  I team it up with Magnus 2 blades and keep 'em shaving sharp with minimal effort.

like JAG,   for broad heads, its a file and a piece of leather to strop it on, razor edges  
      a knife, a diamond stone or good ole Arkansas stone and the same leather. also gets a razor edge, I  dont see a need to spend $$ for something so simple.

For the kitchen a file and a steel are tuff to beat....quick,easy and plenty sharp.

I use the gatco on my BH's and knive's depending on how much time I want to invest.The first time is always the longest getting the angle correct but after that it's pretty quick.I bought the set with 5 stones so that I'd hace the V stone for doing serrated blades.The extra course stone is handy too and I have added some tricks at the end which will give ya a FACE shaving sharp which is sharper than an arm shaving sharp...try it if ya don't believe me LOL

I'm havn,t used the other system recommeded but I suspect it's good as well

KME - great system, and a real improvement over my Lansky.
