Is it the old style that uses a threaded rod and weight or the new style that goes in from the nock end that has a hex head and threaded?

I took a coat hanger and straightened it out to push the weights out that didn't just come out.You also said you can not get a field tip in the shaft, you may have a damaged insert. You might try to clean up the threads by running a tap in it,8/32" tap.Is this a used arrow,I have bought some used ones that too much glue was used to install the insert and had trouble with the weights.Try pushing the weight out with a coat hanger or a small steel rod.
