another proud father moment...
« on: June 04, 2008, 08:14:00 PM »
I constantly find myself butting heads with my 13 year old son. "quit playing video games and get outside" "clean your room" etc, etc....

school is coming to an end and he brought home his book of poems... he never stops amazing me and i just wanted to share these three

THE WOODS

The woods, filled with many creatures
Many creatures sneaking thru the brush
The brush is whispering with only the sound of the wind,
The wind carries the whispers of the creatures in the woods.

Sunny Midnight

Dark and quiet
Trees sleeping
A crunch in the bush
The stillness of midnight

The rising sun
Birds chirping
A snake squeezes his treat
A bear catches his morning salmon

I have 2 teenagers of my own and I know what you mean about butting heads but then they turn around and do something that just melts your heart and all the headbutting is forgotten.

Those are wonderful!
I butted heads with mine, all the way until he joine the Army.  He's a good kid, rather man, just made some wrong decisions.  But now I can't begin to tell you what a Man he's become. And how proud I am of him. Deploying in the fall.  We'll get to see him late summer.
Enjoy the head knockin' while you can.  Always cherish thier youth and their lives!
May the Great Spirit keep this young man on the right path, and keep his family close, healthy, and safe.
