lake new melones deer

last summer in california I had the chance to do some awsome fishing for bass and salmon at the lake, what I didnt know was that i was going to see so many deer! I have been thinking about the area ever since,

I would like to know if hunting in the area is even permited, I couldn't find any thing about hunting bein permitted or forbidden on the lakes website,

can someone please fill me in if hunting is allowed in the area?
