The old company Indian Archery from Indiana.Anyone know what wood they used for there longbows? Im thinking Lemonwood.

the majority of the old longbows of that period were lemonwood from Cuba.

Both of the above are correct , a majority of bows made in the classic years were of Hickory and Lemon wood , if you see an obvious grain pattern its most likely Hickory , if there is very little obvious grain Lemonwood.
Back then the expensive bows such as Osage and Yew sold for $25.00 and the Lemonwood and Hickory for $5.00 thus the majority made of these two.
And just think gas was about ten cents a gallon
