restoring old mounts
« on: June 08, 2008, 10:18:00 PM »
I have an old deer mount that has resided in my carport for awhile. I have a place to hang it in our hunting cabin now. I started cleaning it with Seybrite Trophy cleaner. I am attempting to glue the ear back together. Anyhow, I need to paint and brighten the nose, area around eyes and mouth. Any suggestions?
Thanks  Mike Gerard  owlbait

Mike,

You might want to consider having it re mounted. Most taxidermists keep a few whitetail capes around just for this reason.
