Common sense says err on the side of "heavy" and don't see just how little arrow weight or bow weight you can get by with. Keep the 3D target arrows at home with respect to the animals your hunting.

I agree w/ ya George. There was a point when I was messing w/ these arrow and though this is really stupid. The stubborn ass in me kept fiddling w/ them till I found something that worked. Ended up w/ Heritage 150s w/ a weight tube and 225 up front. Finished out at 625 grains. A pretty good balance I think.
I personally dont like shooting past 25yds at critters. Not that I haven killed them farther its just the thrill for me is how close I can get.
