Water Buffalo Point Blank DVD
« on: June 12, 2008, 11:27:00 AM »
For those who haven’t already seen it the guys at TVQ have produced another good traditional bowhunting film, Water Buffalo Point Blank.  Great footage of hunting an animal most of us will never have the opportunity to experience. Also believe they said this is the first time E. Donnall Thomas has been filmed hunting.

As with TVQ’s other hunting videos this one takes you along on the actual hunts, not just a series of kill shots, and describe and show some of the country where these animals live. This one's worth watching.

Nice job guys, thanks.

I've been to Melville island a few times when i was based in Darwin with the Royal Australian Navy we used to hide from bad weather there when out on Patrol for illegal fishing. Never had my bow with me there though.

Hey lads, it's not the first time the Good Doctor has been filmed hunting! Us Aussies are lucky enough to be able to see him and his wife in action with their recurves against deer and pigs in one of the "Hunting the Basalt" DVDs made by Cashy and filmed on Toomba. Don does an awesome stalk to nail a fine chital stag, and I can't remember if it show's his wife's stalk or not, but she bagged a good boar.

Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to my copy of the buffalo film arriving!

Sounds great guys.  I see the add here on T/G, so I may just order one and send off some dough.

Also - whilst I am at it and on the topic of DVD's - where can I get some Fred Eichler (sp??) DVD'S from?  My friend in Melbourne once lent me a few of the older ones (circa 05-06), and I was very impressed with Fred.  He is so accurate with his recurve and seems an ethical hunter.  He can also be very hilarious!

The old DVD's were quite corny and one could see they had been shot on a budget.  However there was on in the few that I had which was obviously a more modern production.  It had fred doing the voice over from the studio and would cut back and forth to him as he described the hunt.  I really enjoyed that one.

Any contacts for the site where one can order some of his latest productions?

Thanks in anticipation - Sutto

Glad you all are enjoying the show. We really appreciate your support.

Ben, my bad on Don. I'd never heard or seen him in a video. I told the jacket designer (Todd) wrong info. I ordered those DVDs from Cashy.

It was a very fun hunt and getting to spend time with Bill Baker made it one of the best experiences I'll ever have.

Denny, you'll love the part where Bill is finishing the film, and says something like, "That's it for another Basalt adventure - time to head home," or somesuch, and begins walking away over the ridge. A few minutes later, he walks back and says something like, "Oops, forgot the camera!"
