BROADHEADS
« on: June 12, 2008, 03:27:00 PM »
Just wondering what you guys thought about broadhead flight.  Will a woodsmen have better flight and stability than say a STOS because of the three blades.  Which broadheads do you prefer out of all of them.  I am going to be hunting mule deer in a couple of months.  Thanks

Oooh! I can get in with it before everyone else!  :D

I agree with Robtatoo. Tuning is everything.
I like 3 blade snuffers (150g). Once you get them sharp they leave big holes and pass thru. And when you miss they can be re-sharpen.

Like Rob said and the two heads you mentioned are among the best flying "trad" heads you'll find.

My favorites...STOS, Silver Flames, Razor Caps, Woodsmans and Grizzlies.

Do as much research as can like you're doing here by asking questions or test them out yourself.

As others here have already said...shoot what you end up feeling most confident in and tune your equipment to the best of your ability if you want to maximize your arrow's penetrating capability.

Rob is correct. Tune to perfection. Anything less is not good enough.

I've tried a few different broadheads and always came back to Zwickey's. Scary sharp in a few minutes and fly perfect.
