Book to read & pass along
« on: June 18, 2008, 01:00:00 AM »
Mike Bolin has kindly offered "60 Years with the Feathered Shaft" by Ed Pitchkites to Trad Gangers to read and pass along when finished.  Just start a thread when you are done and mail it on.

I have just finished reading it, so who wants it next?  Ed talks about his start in bowhunting during the Great Depression and continues on to 1998.  He tells of equipment, hunts and his philosophies on what bowhunting is to him.  I enjoyed it and believe much the same as he.  Thank you Mike for the read.

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

It's like "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" only most of you are guys and it's an archery book. How quaint!   :bigsmyl:

Seriously though, throw me on that list!

To all on this thread up through ChuckC:

I have printed the thread and included it with the book.  The book is on it's way to Tyee, now.  Please keep the papers with the book, cross off your name and contact the next person in order to mail it to them.  ChuckC should start a new thread to see if anyone else wants to read it or send it back to Mike Bolin.  His name and address are inside the front cover.

Thank you again Mike.  Enjoy the journey, ya'll.

I haven't seen it yet Mike, but I am betting it will be great.  I actually like talking to, or reading stories from the old timers.  We are losing a lot of history with the loss of each.

We really need to take the time to listen because it truly is our loss.

Thank you again, Mike, for allowing us to read this book.
