The New Mexico Draw results are available this morning! I am blessed again this year to chase elk!!!

i got drawn for my third choice (3rd year in a row this has happend!) up in unit 5b south of Chama. how bout you?

just north of the Gila in 15, right next to the Arizona border. I was just in 5B last week digging clay for my pottery studio, elk sign was everywhere. Felt like I was near an elk freeway.

ooohhh!!! I like the sounds of "elk freeway."

i killed a cow elk there last year and a spike bull the year before. so i feel pretty good about it this year. i'm just excited to be able to get out and hunt them.

i've hunted unit 15 several times near cat springs and slaughter mesa. BIG bulls down that way! lots of bears when i was there too

I got the BIG red "unsuccessful" for the 5th year in a row. But I will keep on trying. I have a friend who has property never Pie Town. I was hoping to meet him there for some RR during the trip.

I drew 52 second season. It will be my first elk hunt and my feet haven't touched the ground since I saw the hit on my credit card.

Nothing for this year. No elk, deer or antelope for the son and I. Seriously thinking about an OTC bear tag for the area we usually hunt elk in.

snag- ah bummer, i know how it feels to see that big red disappointment. maybe next year eh!

duck- 52 (tres piedras) is a great area! hunted there about 4 years ago. never seen any real big bulls there, but tons of elk!

desert- thanks! i'm hoping to get to CA for one of those hog hunts kingwouldbe is trying to put together. i drew javelina here in NM too

elkwhishper- where at in the gila? my first and second choices were there too. Good luck!

I love the Gila, I ve hunted there twice. I will apply next year. I havent had my fill of Alaska yet.
