Piebald doe ,White Turkey Pics

Got these off my video camera today after seeing some other posts..I'll post more as soon as I can get them uploaded. I've got one white turkey on video and two other piebald does.

 The gene causing the albinism does not affect the quality of the meat. I have eaten an albino buck and a piebald doe.  There is NO difference in meat quality., unless there is a nutrition problem.

  An Albino Turkey is RARE in VA.  Excellent pics. Thanks For posting!

piebalds are very special,thyre really neat to see one first hand, look too pretty to shoot when you can shoot a normal doe

I spent two years hunting a herd of piebalds.   Passed on the old doe b/c one of her kids was heading my way and the little one's back half was completely white.  His sister darn near ran me over though and they all blew out of there.  That was the closest I got to them, but I got to see them plenty.

Piebalds generally occur in areas with a high deer population.  They are not albinos (no such thing as a partial albino).  The color variations are caused by a recessive gene.  When you increase the deer population, you increase the chances of inbreeding and increase the chances of this and other recessive traits showing up.  From a herd health point of view: shoot and fire up the grill!

They are by far some of the coolest animals I've ever watched in the woods.  At one point I saw two youngins romping around.  As soon as they lost their spots though - well, the ones they were supposed to lose - I considered them fair game.

lot of mix breed turkeys in mo.  I have seen most of them in southern mo...Wild and ones that escaped the turkey houses breeding. Dont think I have seen all white but a bunch of mixed black and white

wow is there any difference in hunting regulation for them? anyone here shot a piebald deer with the bow?

Never seen a piebald, There was a set of twin albinos I watched in Indiana for a while. I first saw them as fawns and watched them progress. The yearling doe I never saw after the first winter again. I did see the other though for 2 years after that. He was a pretty nice 8 pointer the last time I saw him. I'm not sure what happened to either as I never heard of anyone shooting either one. This was almost 10 years ago I reckon.
