My first custom bow - pics
« on: June 25, 2008, 06:15:00 PM »
It's in even quicker than I expected.  Here's my brand new Howard Hill, the optimistically named "Chili Maker".

It's 66" long, 60@29 with two lams of yew (outside) and two of bamboo (inside) and elk tips.

The riser is bocote and that's a moosehide wrap.

Since this is the first longbow I've ever shot more than twice (I've been shooting a DH Hunter for 20+ years) I expected to shoot a bit left (and apparently high) but I'll take this for a group of five on the first day...

I'm not the only one that shoots at that target, btw.  My son and I are training a new hunter so all of the bad holes are probably his.  :-p

Thanks much to everyone that gave advice before my purchase.  I'll be practicing tons so this thing can live up to its name.  :-D
