Jackraggit Flash AZ style
« on: June 29, 2008, 05:42:00 PM »
A totally new critter for me to hunt    Seems there are quite a few of these longer than normal eared raggits. In my new found home  :D  This morning while shooting with chortdraw and 16 ga at the Granite Archers Range in Prescott. This one made a fatal mistake

My first Jackrabbit, I'm thinking of many! Blacktail Elite one piece, Easton 2114's and a good old Judo point did the job! Anybody have any good Jackrabbit recipes?  :D

Very cool Brent!  Your first AZ harvest, and it almost qualifies as big game!

Thats a youngun. Wait till he sees a bigun. Used to have quite a few of these things on the range but some of them also made a fatal mistake. Had a good time this morning and had some long range shooting.

run over him with the truck about 6 times and then marinate like Dave says. Cook in a crockpot for about three days on low and it should get soft enough to chew as long as you are younger than age 12.

Seriously, Stinson shower me how to de-backstrap the rabbit. Marinate the backstraps and throw um on some mesquite coals. Yummy! You'll need to grind the rest of the rabbit.

Biggest wolf worms I ever saw were in Jack Rabbits around Cottonwood, Az. this time of year. Keep at em Bud! If ya find a high population of them please give me a call. I'll travel to shoot small game! CK
