Confesions of a Bowaholic extraordinar
« on: June 30, 2008, 05:20:00 AM »
Yes, that is me. I thought I had it licked when I found my Morrisons, then the Brackenbury called me.Thought I had it licked then. Now I have another Brackenbury Quest that tempted me. And a Jack Harrison Siberian. Now Charlie tells me he can build me a Sunbear recurve and of course I jumped on that. I need a bigger bow rack, guess I will just have to build one,LOL. Yeah, I know you guys and girls want pics, you will just have to wait until I can make the time to take some of my newest aquisitions.

I just cannot resist the fine lines of a bow and the sight of an arrow in flight, I am a lucky man.Well at least this is my only vice. I do not drink or chase women. Guess that is why the wife just shakes her head when she sees me coming from the post office with another package,LOL.

To all the bows I've loved before
Who traveled in and out my door.
I thought I had it licked
Then I seen a little pic
Of all the bows I've loved before.

To all the bows I've once carressed
And may I say I've held the best.....

Barry, that would be funny if it weren't so true.  :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:

Poor Danny, I have the same affliction although I don't think my habit has progressed to point of yours.  I'll have to try harder.

I am on bow #5 for this year! I usually have no more than one at a time. I have one on the way this week!!
I was going to stick the funds from selling my last bow away for a custom next year, but that RER just had to be here with me. I still have a year to save up.  :knothead:
Just one more step please!

I to am a bowaholic. My habit has a purpose and that is to try as many bows as humanly possible but still hang onto the 2 or 3 that will go into the woods with me every year. I can honestly say by shooting and owning all the different bows you end up with some good knowledge about bow design and craftsmanship and how much it varies from bow maker to bow maker. I consider myself more of a "Bow Connoisseur". My condition is getting better and I'm down to an even dozen now and I think I'm only going to hang on to my Thunderhorns and I just got a Shrew Lil Favorite that I'll need get some more Shrew friends for.

Sadly, there is no known cure for this affliction...only treatment, which entails many trips to the post office!!

Actually,  I presently own 3 and have the Dale Dye T/D recurve on the way.  Two of the 3 I own I don't shoot.  They were bought as keepsakes from the gentleman that built my first trad bow.

Please don't ask how many I've bought and sold or traded!        :knothead:    :banghead:

I think in our case Danny it is genetic. We just can not help it cause of our genes. That is my story and I am sticking to it.   :biglaugh:      :biglaugh:      :jumper:

Yep.  Thought I had it licked.  Down to my favorite dozen or so longbows.  Then, I somehow became infatuated with Bear take-downs.  Don't know why I overlooked them the first time around.  Yeah, I was shooting sticks in the early 60s.  Looks like I'm paying for it now.
