2 spots open for hog/deer in SC
« on: July 02, 2008, 10:33:00 AM »
If anyone would like to join me and my dad in SC at Ray Hammond's place for a hog/deer hunt on August 22nd, 23rd and 24th, theres room for two more. We'll be driving down from Long Island so if your on the way maybe we could meet up and head down together. It's $595 for the three days which include food/lodging. License fees are gunna be about $140. Let me or Ray know if your interested or have any questions.        -Chris

Here's a link to Ray's post about the place:    http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=48;t=000589

I'm checking my schedule now and have a friend that might come with me.  I know that I have some business travel in August, but I think it is the week before.

Don't write me on yet and if anyone else wants to jump on, go right ahead.

I was going to be going to Ill. the first week of Oct. to deer hunt with Bernie Swank of Mystik Longbows but I think I messed up and didn't get my out of state license in June. June is busy and I thought it was July when I was suppose to get them.
This hunt sounds like alot of fun and I have that weekend off. I'll have to let you know. Would you mind if two women went along? Or a woman and a kid?

there's no problem for us at the camp, as long as Chris and his dad are fine...we have a separate bedroom for two that would work fine...I don't want you to think its all perfectly pristine in the accomodations..its a real hunting camp..been there for 25 years..lots of wear and tear.

I can't make it.  Too many family obligations right now and my friend can't work out his vacation time the way he needs it.

Ray, I may be looking into some future dates with you.  Sounds like lots of fun, I just can't make it work right now.

The accomodations are more than fine. I went down to hunt , not to stay at the Holiday Inn. I loved the camp. It was dry with working AC, bunks were very comfortable and sheets were clean. The food was great!!!! Good times!

It really is a great camp cabin.  With not one and not two but with the AC units to keep you nice and cool.  Heck it is nicer than the cabin on my club property.  I didn't hear mice running back and forth in the ceiling all night chewing on stuff like at our cabin.

It is worth your effort to make one of these hunts!!

I'm a woman, not a wimp!
  :biglaugh:
I'm sure the accomodations are fine. (Still chuckling). It sounds like so much fun! I'm still trying to work it out if it's ok with Chris.

You should go b.glass.  If I had the time I would take the slot.  I think it could be addictive.

Come on Bona! I'll make sure you'll gain 5 lbs. eating, lose 10 lbs. walking, and have the best time of your life. I'll even tote your pig out and clean it for you.

You can't go wrong with any part of this trip.

Squirrel Bait is really good at toting and cleaning pigs. Gives him a reason to use his "special" method of loading them pigs back in the truck...which we all know is his favorite part!  :bigsmyl:

Yeah, that was a classic! But like the snake photo , some things are better kept a secret!

Mike and I put a bit over 1500 miles on the vehicle for this trip.  Our cost total for the hunt, including travel expenses and a hotel stay on the way down, was about $800 each. We weren't exactly frugal, so your travel expenses could be less.

This hunt, and the guys putting it on, are worth every penny.
