Black Widow Bows/ Your Favorite...
« on: July 03, 2008, 11:47:00 PM »
Just wondering what your favorite Widow is? Why?

I've tried them all now. PSR/PLX/PTF/PSA/PMA

For me the PTF is the one.... I've honestly tried to get the others to shoot as good, but the one piece seems to be the ticket for me.  Your thoughts
Blessings,
Steve

"SAG" 65# @ 31"  Short Autumn Gray.  Think they're called PSRs now.  Very fast, quick to point, and the only bow I own that I will shoot carbons off.  Plenty of utility in the field...not the prettiest thing in the world, but I'm not trying to get a Friday night date with it either.  I don't mind putting a scratch on it as I know it will perform well even after a bit of a beating...this bow has "character" and could tell a story or two.  Brian

i have put real honest to goodness time in on only the MA series.  Compared to anything else I have shot these are leaps and bounds better.  I shot a LAG a few times and it shot great but the stability of the heavy riser of the MA is excellent.

Another vote for the MA!!!  I'm shooting a 1999 model MA-III, 64", that I bought new...Just can't make meself shoot another bow, cuz then "Dorothy" would just be hangin there on da wall!!!

I'd never thought I'd say a bad word against my PSAX KIngwood..... but .... my new PLX Kingwood with the old LAG grip is a nail driver.

Set at 66# at my draw of 30" I find it hard to leave it alone now.

I have juat  two models. A SA-111, 62",44# and a PLX cocobolo, with a LAG grip,64",42# As much as I liked the SA, I have to say that my PLX is the most natural shooter for me of any bow I've ever tried.

I have shot Black Widow longbows since they first came out. I like both the PLX and PSRX the best.

Have had several but presently a PSAV and the LAG. Still always go back to the LAG, its not as fast but pure enjoyment to shoot.

Steve,
I'm 100% with you on the TF or PTF series being top of the Black Widow line.  I've shot all the current BW models. They're all outstanding bows.  The PTF or TF bows just shoot the best for me.

PSA II.  I've only tried the PSA, the PMAV and the new PA.  I had a PSAX and should have kept it but what I really wanted was the PSAII, just something I really dig about that grey color.  If I could get a grey PA with a bow bolt I'd be happy as a groundhog in soft dirt.

I have three: MAIII, SAG, PLGA...I love them all but  have hunted mostly with the SAG, But the PLGA is probably the best shooting bow I have and will be sharing time in the woods this fall. They both have the same grip so I don't have to make adjustments in the way I shoot them.

Now you know why they have horse races!

All you folks who commmented on the lonbows and the takedowns--have any of you ever had or shot a TF or a PTF?
I'm only as good as my first shot.

Funny thing though Tox, and your point is proven as I say this, I dont see them for sale much.  As in never, of course I am a lefty....
