My first footed riser!
«

While awaiting the wood and glass laminates to build my first glass bow, I have been working to get ready. I have built a form, a hot box, and now a footed riser. I used osage with a footed piece of shedua with a hickory accent stripe. My limbs will be red cedar. Here is what I have so far.
I cut the pieces out with a plywood pivoting jig I built in a few minutes. My poor little 10" band saw had a real struggle with the 1 1/2" wide osage/shedua.
I thinned the fades with my portable belt sander and 50 grit belt. It is pretty easy if you first secure it to a longer scrap board.

Looks good, I've been a big fan of your project posts here and I look forward to seeing how this one comes out.

Here is the scrap wood jig I threw together. I need to order a couple of toggle clamps!
