Bear Stag Hunter
«

Im just recently getting into traditioanal bows. I have always shot compounds, Oneida's, and decided to do what I have always wanted, traditional hunting. I recently purchased a bear long bow to begin this adventure, but I have this older Bear recurve, Stag Hunter, that I know nothin about, given to me by my Dad. Can any of you tell me whether or not this bow is a collector, a nothing, old, not to old, anything will be fun to hear.
Thanks

What are the specs on the bows? that would be very helpful in getting info. Also post pics of the bows if you can
Also welcome to the world of trad archery, trust me when i say it is much more rewarding and tons more fun than a compound.

They're kind of a low end model, note the lack of overlays. Mine is for fishing, looks like plain maple with black glass, marked 45/50#. Shoots okay, I guess, like an average recurve. I think they were made in the 70's, but I'm not sure of that. It's probably worth more to you to shoot and share than to sell.

A buddy has one. I believe Bear made them for Sears. I can tell that it shoots real nice.
