not so mellow yellows :)
« on: February 21, 2007, 10:42:00 AM »
heres a couple pics of my latest set of carbons.   those who know me know that I'm chea...er...like to DIY....so got some 50 yards of flourescent yellow vinyl off **** for a couple bucks (3.95 to be exact, shipping was twice as expensive), and got a dozen CX terminators for 30 buck.   wrapped and fletched with chartruese fletch and flo yellow nocks.

in continuing the el-cheapo vein.....I searched for a 'cheapo' way to crest the wraps and no markers I found would dry, until I tried   sharpie king size  markers and they worked great.  heres a couple pics:

forgot to add that the fletch are scizzor cut banana/parabolic hybrids about 5" and 1/2" high.  and they have 100 grain brass inserts and 200 grain ezpull points.

Those would never work for an ol' hippie like myself, that intense yellow streaking away would burn after images that might cause a flashback!

thanks guys....yah...like that shakes...'frugal'

manny, its just a pocket quiver I made.  fits in the back pocket for target shooting.  made fomr tandy tooling scraps and scarlet rit dye with montana pitch.

yah....I've been working on my shooting form for the past few months and the yellow fletch makes it really easy to see strange arrow flight...now I just gotta find a way to 'hide' them in my bow quiver while hunting  :)

yah charlie...was thinking about wrapping the entire shaft (which would look like some old bear cedars I bought off of someone who found them in the attick)   :)

ps guys..I tried regular sharpies & industrial sharpies and neither worked, only the 'king size' seems to work.

Nice Job!  I'v been watching and learning.  My first attempt with arrows will definitely be inspired by your "expensive tastes".
