Going to Niagra Falls New York....
« on: July 15, 2008, 08:31:00 AM »
Going to Niagra Falls in August to visit family AND pick up my new MojoStik!  :bigsmyl:

Is there any good TRAD shops between Maine and there? I'm gonna hit the Cabela's in Scarborough, ME on the way down from New Brunswick at least.

Another 5 or so hrs on the rd and you could visit Bob Morrison's shop.

There may be some venders at the Hawkeye shoot held in aug if the date's line up.It's not as big as Denton but a very nice shoot just the same and is about an hr from the falls maybe less.

I'm in western NY and don't recall any trad shops anywhere close by most cater to wheels and even those shops have dwindled some in recent yrs

Good luck and have a safe enjoyable trip
Shoot straight and have FUN!!

When and where is the Hawkeye shoot? I'll be in the Falls around the 8-9-10th of August.
That's another idea...maybe I could visit a bowyer's shop or something.......any suggestions in that area?

Dang Wendall - I'm going to be at the Muzzy shoot that weekend or I'd invite you to stop by. We still should try to get together. PM me if you're interested.

Yeah I got the original spelling wrong. Tonawanda it is.  Geeze. I drive right by the front door to the Northwind shop every time I get down that way to visit a friend. You'd think I'd have it right by now!     :banghead:

Hay forget about the Trad shops in Niagara! The Italian food is to die for. Just driving thru town at meal time is a treat with all the heavenly smells coming from the restaurants

Twisted, I won't be going thru Quebec, so R.Wright's is not in the picture. I'm in New Brunswick so I'll come down thru Maine and across NH and Vermont...As the crow flies man! shortest route possible.

BTW, Twisted...check out "Valin Bows" it's a trad shop on Quebec's Gaspe Penninsula...Google it. Nice bows, but a bit pricey. Also what about Missippi Lakes...aren't they in Ontario somewhere?

Tom,
I'm not sure if it's a Trad. shop or just the shop where he makes his bows.
Northwind Archery. He is one of the first major bow maker/vendors at Hawkeye.  His name escapes me at the moment but he makes some nice recurves and flat bows.

Mystikbow, if you think of his name or contact #, let me know...I'd love to look him up when I'm down there. I think I'm gonna be very close to there.
