GT 3555 and 47@27 draw

Well, I been missing around with those new black GG 500's in hopes of getting them to shot out of my 47# recurve and unless I strap a brick to the front ... they ain't working.
Also, tried the GG 1916's... But I have to leave them full length and shoot 200 grains upfront for them to shoot pretty good??? But I really don't like having an arrow that long.
Anybody know what the 1916's spine at and if'n the GT 3555's are weaker spined??? Or could you suggest a carbon arrow for the lower 40# bows?? And where to get them?

Don't waste your money on the Goldtips if 1916's spine to stiff.
I've been playing with shooting carbons from a 45lb longbow for a while now.
What a joke!!!
I've just gone back to tappered cedars,now I can build an arrow that flys how it should at the length it should be.
I've Had a guts full of over rated carbons that you have to adjust an mess with so much it becomes rocket science.

maybe you need to leave your shafts longer than normal and put some extra weight up front i shoot 35/55 out of my horne traditionalist its 47 #s @ 27 "s I shoot them with 125 up front and left them at 30 Inches long fly pretty dang good . you start cutting them down and you end up stiffening them up even more and they shot 188 fps out of my bow I was happy with that.

I'm shooting 3555's @ 29" w/ 235 gr. up front, out of a 42# longbow @ 27".Great flight.

We gotta know what type of bow you are shooting if it is cut past center and recurve or LB. My guess is that a carbonwood, or vapor 2000 with 175 grains up front, cut somewhere around 28"s would be good if your bow is cut to or past center and is a high performance bow! Shawn

If the 500s don't work the 35-55s will not work either.They are close to the same spine.You need to look at something lower in spine.GT makes a 600 and you can get Easton redlines in a lot less spines if that is your goal.If you leave your 500s long there is no reason they will not tune for that bow with a reasonable point weight.If you want short arrows you will have to pony up for a more costly arrow or shoot aluminums.An 1816 would be the next step.

String cutter I had the same problem with a 46 lb. bow I own.  Get yourself some carbonwood 2000's.  I think Kustum king has them.  They fly great out of mine.

I'm shootin'  45# @ 28".  The GT 35/55 with a 125 point, and 200 grains of weight up front.  Flyin' fine, finally.

Can you recommend a good place to get the carbonwood 2000's online? I use GT3555 with 65 grains inserts and 160 grain heads.They fly great out of my 50@29 hoyt gamemaster, but I just can't get them to fly out of my Marriah.

I shoot goldtip 35/55 out of a bear grizzly 55# @28. I only draw 26 so its around 50#. To get them to tune right i ended up cutting my arows down to 28" and have a 100 grain insert with 100 grain point and they fly great.

PSE has a new shaft out that replaced the dominator, it comes in a 100-200-300-400, I got them for my wife's 35# bow and they are perfect, I got the 200's, you could use a 28" 200 with a 100grain insert and reg weight head and have a perfect arrow.  FS archery discount is carrying them, they have a straigtness factor of .001 or .002 really good quality for a replacement of the dominator, inserts and nocks and they are less than $65 a dozen new.

Listen carefully....you want to look at the Carbon Express Thunderstorm SE. It is a 600 spine, 30-50# rated. They were marketed as a kids/womans arrow, but are selling much more to trad shooters. Along with the light spine, they have a fairly heave GPI (8.3 graains per inch, I think). Any way, from my 48@27" BW, the tuned perfectly cut to 28 1/4" with a 125 gr point. Total arrow weight with my crown dip/creastin is 396 gr.

These shafts have a neet spider web pattern on them and go really nice with my Widows! They definately are much lighter spined than the GT's.

Give them a look, I think you will like them.

SC..I answered your PM, I was having brain fade there for a minute. I have my local bow shop order mine, they are a Carbon Express dealer. Any good pro shop should be able to get them.

I have an extra dozen, if you want them I could bring them to the next Dixie shoot. They cost me $89 plus tax. Kinda pricey, but they are worth it, CX makes the nicest carbons out there.
