how-to snakeskin an arrow...Carbon that is
« on: July 25, 2008, 12:37:00 PM »
Can this be done?  I will be trying it on grizzly sticks.  I think that'll add a good dose of medicine to them.  Anybody have any suggestions on doing it?
Just going to put the width of one skin on the arrow in front of the fletching, unless there is a more aesthetically plesaing locale.  For some reason I don't want to hide the skin underneath the feathers.

Thanks, Dan

I have done it twice. The first I did not over coat or secure the ends and the skins came off after I started shooting them.

The second time I sinew wrapped them and gave them 3 coat of water based poly and they held up nicely.

Put mine a couple inches in front of the feathers as well.

Good luck with it.

Thanks....what is the Glue you are using?  I used wood glue I think on my bows, but that ain't gonna work here.  Also, Grizz sticks have a super slick finish, should I rough it up a bit?

Thanks guys.
