Selfbow Builder?
« on: July 26, 2008, 06:32:00 PM »
I am looking for a Osage selfbow. I like what I see on J.D. Jones web site but can't get him to call me back. Wating on Dryad to call back. Who else builds a good stick?

Can't go wrong with J.D. or Dryad. J.D. builds  bow as a side job.  Try to E-mail him instead of calling.  Dryad are out of town but I bet Connie is checking their e-mail also.  Ted Fry makes a nice bow as does Ed Scott of I think Silent owl bows.

What part of SELF bow don't you understand? Just kidding, but really... the fun is in making one. Find a self bow jamboree in your area and attend. If you can't find one, come to Bradjam the first weekend in May, Varoqua, WI.

A JD bow went way too cheap at the MOJam auction a week ago. A good one is gonna cost ya $500 or so, more for snakey and/or snake skinned. Wingnut and Eric also build top notch self bows, as does Littletree (Brad Merkel).
