Quartersawn Big Leaf Maple
« on: July 27, 2008, 03:19:00 PM »
Hi im wanting to no if quartersawn big leaf maple would be strong enough for a riser. It will be on a r/d glass long bow 18" riser 55# bow . Would i need to Laminate it with hard wood. Or would it be better to use a harder wood as the mane riser an use the maple as a accent. Or will it be ok by its self.I looked it up It has a Specific Gravity of 0.48 dry.  Thanks for any help
