first sheds of the year
«
on:

I took a walk this afternoon looking for squirrels and rabbits. Didn't find either, but lookie what I did find.
It's pretty early for me to find sheds, especially with a foot of snow on the ground yet, but these two just jumped out at me. Can't wait for the snow to melt now!

Those are some dandies. I still see them on the heads, not on the ground.

heck I'm lucky to see deer, finding a shed is the proverbial needle in a haystack around these parts.
the right ones got some decent mass.

thanks guys, that big one is bigger than the pictures show. It's 5.5 inches at the base, between the G1 and G2, AND between the G2 and G3 it's still 5.5 inches. Swampbuck and I figure it's probably a 150 class 8 if the other side matches.

Hope at least one of those guys walks past you this season.Never found sheds while looking for them always just stumbled on them during Spring turkey or the following Fall and by then they've been chewed on by rodents.Like you "Stone" I'm gonna wait for things to thaw a bit...it was great talking with you at Shawns' last week by the way...your boy is a real trooper to trudge through all that snow and congrats on your bunny.

I never have had much luck finding antlers...until this year. These sets were all found within a few hundred yards of each other. I actully found them in pairs as if they dropped while bedding. The one on the left I found within 50 feet on the same trail, one in the open and the other in some brush. Good thing is, they'll be back.
