Grayling vs. Gainesville Kodiaks?

Just curious how the newer (mid-90's)Bear Kodiak 1 pc recurves compare to their older Grayling made counterparts?  Do they shoot any differently?  Are the newer versions any more durable?  They are not as nice looking, but I've heard they are pretty much "bomb proof".  Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks!

My experiences have been just about as you indicate with today's Bear bows being very strong and excellent shooters.  However, their lack of "good looks", "history", and Papa Bear's personal touch put them in "just another production bow" category for me.

BTW, the Kodiak has not been made since 1966...but we know what you mean.  

I have a Gainesville Super Kodiak and it shoots right along with the best of them.

I agree with Blackhawk in that the new one are just as good or better...But you pick up an old Kodiak and it's kinda like Tinkerbell sprinkling her majic dust on you    Doc

I have had both at the same time, a Grayling SK and a Gainsville SK.    I would have to agree with Blackhawk.  My all-time favorite bow without question.
