Mike,
I hope the best for you man! I have wanted to do the same thing as a knife-maker but haven't had the guts...Maybe someday.
I wish you the best and hope things work out.
I have family in Idaho, next time I'm in the area maybe I'll look you up!

Mike made me an awesome longbow earlier this year.  My daughter has since claimed it as her own.  One of the best experiences I've had with a bowyer was with Mike.

I wish you all the good fortune you can stand buddy.  I quit my job one week ago yesterday.  Following my heart.  God does provide - and Monday I will start over somewhere else.  It is good to have freedom.  God bless.

Thanks everyone.  I did this once before but with 4 teenagers I didn't quite make enough to make them happy.  I'm still on the books with the scholl distric as a substitute and I have that gig as well but I'm really going to make a go at it this time.

I know two people who did this recently. One failed, had is house repo'd, owes a lot of people money and has a bunch of people wanting a piece of his back side, he took their money and has not delivered their bows. He was a popular person on this site for awhile, but now some say he has no integrity. Many on this site are the ones awaiting bows they may never get.
The other guy is making ends meet. He is struggling but he is an honorable man who is meeting his delivery dates and standing behind his bows. He will succeed because he is a hard worker and has a high level of integrity. He takes pride in his work and his bows.
You can also succeed. Take care of your customers, if you let even one down, it will cost you in the long run.
Good luck! What you are doing takes guts, I admire anyone willing to take a chance and follow their dreams.
