What's wrong with my new Gamemaster?
« on: August 10, 2008, 09:01:00 PM »
Two weeks ago I picked up a new Gamemaster 2, after I set it up for bowfishing, I didn't shoot it alot till Friday night. Saturday morning, I picked it up and noticed that the string was out of the string groove on the top limb, I put it back in, shot it a couple times, and it was out again. I had bow hush on the string, and I thought maybe that was the problem, so I took it off, but that didn't help. I have no experience with recurves, I hunt with a longbow, so I've never seen this before. Is the top limb bent? If so should I send it back? Or can it be fixed? It seems to shoot as good as I can shoot it. Can any of you help, or tell me what to do?

The limb is twisted.
Did you leave it strung up while in hot vehicle or let it lay in hot sun all day?
In many cases you can twist it back straight, be careful, not too must pressure or you can crack the limb.
If it is under warranty, do nothing except take it back for exchange!

Like Sipsey River says, it is twited. Had one do the same thing many years ago, didn't notice it until it unstrung itself after shooting. Was a cheap bow picked up at a swap n shop, just twisted the limb back myself. Best you send her back.

it's twisted, did you use a bow stringer to strin/unstring it. it's crucial to use one on a recurve. Either way, hoyt should replace your limbs.

bmfer, can you post a picture of the bow, looking down the back of the riser and the limb with the string in place where its supposed to be?  This view will allow us to see if the limb tip is aligned with the center line.
