I thought it was very good. Especially for a first timer. I kept getting interrupted when I tried to watch it, but I'll have another chance to watch it soon.

I met Doug at the ITBS shoot in Ames this past spring after watching him compete in the speed shoot.  He's an amazing shot - I'm looking forward to watching the DVD!

I stayed up late to watch my new hunting video. It was well worth the sleep deprivation I am experiencing now. Let me start by saying that this is not a Hollywood production. I think that made me enjoy it more. This was about hunting in what I believe to be its purest form. Doug was as real as it gets. You could tell the man enjoyed himself and I enjoyed watching him.
If you are looking for Big bucks, high priced production studios and HD cameras. This isn't it. If you want to watch guys kill animals in high fenced areas and high priced outfitters- again this isn't it. However, if you want to watch a guy work his tail off, hunt public places or places he worked to get permission to hunt or if you love to watch an arrow shot form a traditional bow to take game- this is your video!

I enjoyed every moment of this thing and look forward to next season. I cant even imagine shooting that many animals in a season, yet alone doing it with a long bow while trying to film myself. It remided me of the old Alan Altizer videos.

Thanks for Sharing it with us Doug!

Just received my copy in the mail today and I hope to watch it tonight, but two hours in length that might take me a couple of evenings! Can't wait.

Just got my copy in the mail saturday--  This dvd definitely got me pumped up for the season.  Loads of longbow action in real hunting situations, and plenty of game.  A couple of times I was imagining myself in the treestand there...  I only wish I could shoot that well!
Doug is the real deal.  Absolutely dedicated to traditional bowhunting, and a top notch guy, too.

Having not watched a hunting video in years I can’t stop watching this one. Being two hours in length and always being pressed for time I have been watching this video in segments as time allows. Unfortunately, I have been late for work a couple of mornings for not being able to turn it off!

An honest hunting video that includes the good shots along with the not so good shots, the good clear video and the shaky not so clear video, nothing hidden, no wool pulled here. Doug is an awesome shot; he even pops a few Rabbits, Quail and even some Pigeons! Doug’s sincerity and skills shine through as a genuine traditional bowhunter and all round great guy. Can’t wait for Lettin’ Loose II

Thank you all for all the kind words. Hope to do better with the next one, if there is a next one  :) .
Anyone going to build a hay bale blind this fall?
Thanks again,

Doug

I know we had this video in at the shoot at the Wildlife League of Ohio County in Wheeling this past weekend for our fall rendezvous and we just kept running it on the big screen!! When it was over the club that hosted out shoot asked us if we wanted the video changed and we said no way! Kinda like watching a football game. There was about 20 of us campers riveted to the big screen later in the evening after it got dark.

I have watched that trailer video on Chris Sparks Lewis Hollow  web site over and over. I'm going to have to order one myself. Pretty cool that he uses a Lewis Hollow Longbow exclusively. Hopefully I'll be able to do the same with mine this hunting season.

Bentpole,
He and Chris are friends, but Doug uses a 3 piece that he made himself for most of the video. He shoots a Hill Country reversed handle 3 pc as well.
I do not believe that he uses a Lewis Hollow on any of the hunts.

Had just arrived at a shoot a few weeks ago and spoke shortly with Doug and intended to view some his video, but got sidetracked and didn't get back to see any of it. From all the good reviews, wish I would have now.

This is a great video from a fantastic traditional bowhunter and bowyer. Plus Doug is just an all around great person. This DVD is about as real as it gets when it comes to traditional archery, it truly captures the essence of what most of us think of when it comes to hunting with traditional equipmnet. No fluff and nothing fancy but first class all the way. We need more videos like this one to represent the sport, I hope he makes more.
