I love wood and shot them exclusively when I started. If I just shot one bow i would still be using wood. With more bows and increasing time constraints from kids, wife, ect I've switched to all carbon for now. I use axis 400s and 500's with the 100gr brass inserts for all my bows from 45-56lbs and keep points from 125 to 250 for tuning.

Anything that will fly straight.
Actually started back into trad with aluminums, then switched to woods and then to carbons.
Now switching back to woods and trying some new bamboo for my longbows.
I'll probably use a mix of the above since I have so many shafts and feathers stored around this place.
My older Red Wing Hunters, 4 of them, really do like carbon shafts loaded up on the front end.
Been There, Done That, Still Plowin.
Cane and Magnolia tend to make good arrow.
Hike naked in the backwoods.

I use carbon for a couple reasons...
1. is't problably a carry over from my compound bow days.
2. And this is most important, I tried wood arrows but I live in the driest part of the country. So. Nevada.
Get an arrow str8 here and take almost any place else and it will warp badly!
