Best travel case for a 3 pieces?
« on: August 21, 2008, 12:45:00 PM »
Hi Gang,

Sometime this winter I will have a new bow, a 3 pces longbow.
Can't wait!  ;)

What kind of case are you using for travelling?

Kathy Kelly T/D softcase for me. It seperates both limbs & riser, but doesn't take up too uch suitcase room.

Brilliant piece of kit

where are you going ?  To the lease down the road, I use a soft carrying case and leave my bow strung.  This summer, I went to africa and used a pvc carrying case from 3 rivers stuffed into a duffle bag and a soft case for my bob lee which came with the bow placed into luggage.  Next trip to africa(2010),  I'm going to use the bob lee soft case again foe bob and just wrap my widow up in clothes in my suit case to save weight.  Big cases just add weight and in airlines that means more $$.  Moreover, some of the larger cases look like gun cases and can get you stuck in the gun customs lines.  bhill

Best case in my opinion is one of Rod's Safari Tuff cases.  They even float!

Thanks guys,

I like looking at those things while waiting for the bow.
A soft case that I can stuck in a suitcase for flying, that's what I need  ;)

I have a plastic rifle case, that can be good for  when in the pick up truck.

I saw Rod's Safari Tuff cases at ATAR, and was sorely tempted. I have the 3Rivers hard case (tube) for takedowns, but I really like the compact design of Rod's cases. I bought an Arrowmaster, and it is a great performing quiver. Everything I saw there was built with the highest degree of quality, and well thought out.

another vote for Safari Tuff...you can also carry extra limbs or ANOTHER 2-piece in it....a handy excuse for ANOTHER bow...

I converted a cheap Winchester shotgun case. Just cut out the foam to fit and stuck my arrows in too. My Border GL came with a tough soft case so now I just throw that into the regular luggage between clothes.

I've always just put my limbs in a pvc tube and packed my riser in my boots all in my duffle.  But Whip had some of Rod's cases at Denton, Now I'm high class  :)   Pretty neat case...Doc
