New Archery Line Released
« on: August 21, 2008, 02:05:00 PM »
3Rivers Archery is happy to introduce the Noggle Stones Archery Line.

 http://www.3riversarchery.com/nogglestones/20080808Email.asp

The archery line is based off the book "Noggle Stones," written by Wil Radcliffe. The book is a Young Adult Fantasy novel that is perfect for those that enjoyed "Harry Potter," "Lord of the Rings," or "Chronicles of Narnia."

Barry Cunnigham, the editor who discovered J.K. Rowling, calls Noggle Stones, "Great fun!"

Noggle Stones is a great way to get your kids reading AND to get them interested in archery. Check it out at  www.3RiversArchery.com/NoggleStones.asp

Good stuff. I'm glad to see archery connected with some modern stories for kids. It definitely promotes the *cool* factor, and hopefully will get more kids interested. I of course wanted to be like Robin Hood, but that tale is perhaps getting a little weary and worn-out.

One thing surprised me, though, and that was the bow seemed pretty long and heavy draw weight (lowest is 35# at 28") for the age group that Noggle Stones apparently is aimed at. Of course, kids won't have a 28" draw, so I dunno. Maybe it's fine.

Anyway, I'm glad to see these products. I hope they help get more kids into the sport.    :)
Directions: Hike, camp, hunt, fish, wash, rinse, repeat.

We will be offering lower weight bows in the future, but we also wanted to show that the Noggle Stone bow is a good hunting bow also.

It should get kids into the sport and hopefully have the lasting effect that Robin Hood has had on all of us. Only time will tell...

Tamure, if you'll notice the ad, this is targeted at "young adults" ie high school age.  Sometimes these days it's tough to remember that our "kids" really are kids, even though they try to act grownup.  I have a college age son who owns ALL of the Harry Potter books, and re-reads them on a regular basis....

Ya know, when I was in high school, I was all ate up over Jeremiah Johnson, AB Guthrie books, Robert Ruark's "Old Man and the Boy"....in fact, I still am.  I have a co-worker (single Mom) whose 16 year old is in to "gaming" (D&D).  She also is a regular at Renaissance Faires.  She's been wanting to start shooting bows with her son.  I sent her this link, and she's jumpin' up and down....I think the Noggle Stone folks may have a Home Run.....
