back up bow/ knock -around bow
« on: August 24, 2008, 05:55:00 PM »
so what would you guys consider as a good backup recurve?? i shoot a hoyt gamemaster2 and yeah i do baby it, even though its camo and has a metal riser, but i would like a second recurve ( wood )for a backup that i can keep in my jeep, unstrung of course, this fall so i can head straight to the refuge after work. the refuge where i hunt is only 1 mile from my job  :biglaugh: ....maybe im just making excuses so i can get an all new bow but i am on a budget and i keep noticing the new model bear grizzly at the local shop....seems like a solid bow? what do you guys think.

unstrung or not I wouldn't keep a bow in my car. Or if I did it would be the metal Hoyt.

Grizzly's are great back-up, knock around bows, but why buy a new model at a new model price?

I much prefer the older Grayling version, and they are frequently found for $100-150.

oh okay. Around here even in mid season it can get pretty hot in a car. But I always forget not everyone lives where they wear short sleeves to Christmas dinner.
