My yougest son Tyler asked me today if we could go out and shoot his "new" (his big brother Kevin's old) Grizzly. So I got his 40# '69 Grizzly and my old 47# '67 Grizzly and our back quivers and we went out back.
He has been working at reaching his anchor point and has been doing quite well.....As a matter of fact, today he did VERY WELL!!!!!
We started close (5 yards) and he put all his arrows in our 3-D buck target. I shot a few arrows and he noticed that I was shooting 3-under. He asked me why and I told him that basicly it moves the arrow up closer to your eye. He said he wanted to try it,so I told him to go ahead and do it!!!!!
WELL!!!!! The first bunch of arrows went right into the deer target!!!!! Then we pulled his arrows and the next bunch went into the "kill zone"!!!!!
We pulled his arrows and we shot a few more rounds before I started to notice that he was not reaching his anchor point. I asked him if he was getting tired and he said no,so I asked him to hold it for a second before releasing and I noticed that he was "creeping" so I called it a day.
I told him that he did GREAT and we would do it again in a day or two,to which he replied.....
"I want to come out and shoot my Grizzly EVERY DAY!!!!!"
(I guess I'm going to have to raise his nock point so he can shoot 3-under like his Dad)
