Who Likes Copperhead Skins? Pics...

It's a Critter Getter Special, 58"er with the copperheads and moose antler overlays. Osage riser which is my favorite. Should be here next week. It's so sharp looking that I had to show it off. :)

Very, very nice, Ron! That's one sharp looking takedown, for sure.
I killed a copperhead on the edge of my yard a few weeks ago which measured 39 3/4" long with the head. I have it dried and waiting for the next one for a set. I keep a golf club in the back of my pickup just in case I see one crossin' the roads.

Nice hog, Guru. Nice skins on your bow too. I like diamond back skins, but the copperheads are my favorites. I believe they're a bit harder to come by too.

wow, neat stuff.  I used Tru Oil over the skins Ed.  They will need to be toned down a little with steel wool.

Morrison does a great job with the snake skins, no doubt and he's had lots of practice.

The absolutely best skin job I've ever seen on a bow was a Great Northern Ghost. I saw it up at denton hill in 07. I probably would have bought that bow if the poundage had been more in line with what I wanted. The skins were so smoothly finished, it was like they were under a super thin layer of glass. I've never seen any done as nice as that since.

I was just reading this thread and was thinking about your bows Eric.  How would you go about putting skins on a glass bow?  I have a Horne Combo Hunter I'd like to dress up a bit.

You still want to try to catch some up here?  It would be cool to back a bow with something caught on your own land.  Plus that would mean two less snakes up here!   :bigsmyl:

That was my last matched set of copperheads John. I have a few western diamond backs and timber rattlers put back.

The skin in the picture still has scales wich makes it pretty dull. I took them off this afternoon, WOW, what beautiful skins.
