Checked some cams today and lots of bucks
Two of them have shed there velvet, One mid week and the other was dated last weekend but it looked like he had been out of it for awile.
The rest still looked fine. Anybody else seeing any drying up ??

This guy is a little over two years old. He just lost his velvet on the 28th. (photo taken yesterday, Aug. 29)
Last year he was a cowhorn spike, with long spikes that he held onto almost until May. He lives with his mom and his little sister in the property that backs up to my condo development, separated from us by a high chain link fence.

Nice looking buck for a 2 yr old, Killie. He'll really be something in another few years. Hope he makes it.

The really big ones always keep their velvet a little longer. I guess they are still growing. Gary

They were just starting to shed velvet a few days ago at one of my hunting spots. The one on the right recently lost his velvet. The other buck still has his.

Tracy,
I hadn't noticed that before. Good eye! It does look like one tine is red.

Dang...I must need a new monitor. I don't see a lot of the stuff you guys do!
Sorry about your uh, meeting, Dennis. I imagine the deer is, too. :(

I have seen several nice bucks without velvet this week and a few still with it on. I would say they will all have shed their velvet by the end of this week. Shawn

I have been scouting alot and we checked are cams this weekend. 17 bucks, 1 out of velvet awhile and 1 just finishing (Still bloody) The rest still look good Big and small.
We also have a lot of bucks we have been taking pics of in the fields all week and none of them show signs of shedding there velvet.
I love my cams its fun watching them grow

Thanks Curt
Took some picks to night of the big group and several had lost there velvet. I also found a couple rubs next to the field.
That first buck looks like he has been out for awhile.
