"Elk Down" Pictures (Finally)
« on: September 05, 2008, 12:39:00 AM »
I had taken pictures with my phone and couldn't seem to get them off.  Two days later we were hiking through where I shot my elk and got some pictures with our camera.  With the meat safely hanging and cool, I took the horns and ivory this time.  It is hard to see in the picture but the right side had been damaged and there was a small nub that had grown down allowing the brow tine to get unusually long.

I guess I can add one more picture.

These pictures were with a camera.  I couldn't get the ones I had originally taken with my phone (forgot the camera that morning.)
The bow is a Centaur Archery Chimera #65, made by Jim Neaves out of Montana.

I would like to hunt elk once in my life.  But for now I'll cheer for you and the rest that have the chance to go after them.

I did get a moose with a bow a long time ago so I have had my chances to hunt something besides deer.

Good job

Congrats!  I wonder if the one horn is like that from an injury fighting?
