Camo dipping job....More Pics!

I sent my HS widow to Lonnie who works with Sipsy River for a camo dipping/finishing job. It came back looking excellent and like a brand new bow. Had to take a few shots inside as the hurricane is moving thru VA today and it's not too nice outside. This guy does great work and the price is very reasonable.

I've always wanted one of the HS widows ever since I saw Ken Beck handling one on the old "Tour & Tuning" video. This one is a 60" bow and was built for fastflight string. It's 53#@ 28 and shoots like a dream. I even installed a set of camo Limb/Savers.
I'm shooting the axis 400s and Ace broadheads. The metal riser has a different balance and "feel" as compared to my SA widow. It's heavier and feels as solid as a rock.

Now you will never be able to set it down in the woods for fear of losing it. Very nice job indeed.

Wow, that is awesome. You've really got me thinking now. Got a new RER on order and was going to have it made up with some fancy wood combos, but I'm liking the looks of this. What is the turn around time on something like that?

Looks fantastic, I would need to keep a luminock lit on the arrow so I would not loose it in the woods.

That's a heck of a camo pattern behind the bow.

I shipped the bow to Sipsey River Archery in Alabama. The name of the fellow who did the work is Lonnie and I don't guess he'd mind me posting his email addy.
[email protected]
He told me the turn around time would be two weeks. I shipped the bow on a Monday, he got it on Friday, performed the work that weekend, and the bow arrived back to my house the following Thursday. So, that was eleven days total which was pretty darn quick.
Cupcake, glad you like the other pattern too!

Nice camo job. I recently picked up a HS myself. I had one in the early 80's, and decided I wanted one again. Is that the Widow quiver? My set-up looks the same, only I made brackets for an old Delta strap-on quiver, an bolted it on, just like yours. I haven't had it camo dipped, so it's all black. They're nice shooting bows if you can find them.

That is the Widow 7/5 quiver which I bought new in 96. I disassembled it and had the hood and all metal hardware dipped along with the bow. And I totally agree that the HS widows are some sweat shooting bows. I'm amazed that they quit offering them, or at least never brought them back. I think their return time is way over due.

Is the 7/5 quiver the same today as you have? I don't have that one as I use a Selway. I really like how it all matches. It looks awesome!

The 7/5 quiver they sell now has the leather hood, right? I don't know if they still carry the plastic hood one or not. If not, then Roger at black widow can tell you who they use to purchase them from. I'd guess they're still available someplace.
Lonnie, I hope you get to quit your day job asap! You do great work!
