same arrows for recurve or longbow?
« on: September 09, 2008, 01:52:00 PM »
gang,
i shoot 2018's on my wing recurve which is 47# at 28", and they fly well for the most part.  would i shoot the same arrows off a longbow at the same poundage?  is there a rule of thumb to apply here?
THanks,
Aaron

Depends on WHICH longbow.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Amount of center shot make a big difference.  You will need to add considerable weight to the point if it's not close to center.  How close is it cut to center.
