first bow kill

First sorry for the terrible pic. It is my first bow kill and I am not used to posing things for the camera.
It was too hot for deer and elk to be out last Sunday evening so I was walking down the trail, looking for a grouse. I saw what appeared to be bobcat ears poking over a log, and was staring at that, when this grouse spooked from the brush and flew into a tree, giving me a perfect 12 yard shot. The "bob cat" was just leaves...but the grouse was real and will be real tasty too.
The bow, quiver and arrows were all purchased from trad gangers on the classifieds here.
hope fully soon I will score on something bigger so I can work on my photography skills!

That's some fine shooting right there.... Congrats. I remember my first bow kill like it was yesterday, but it was 32 years ago. You will never forget the moment, and you will be able to relive it in your mind for the rest of your life, one day you will know what I mean, as a lot of you already do.

Congratulations
That's a real fine accomplishment!! After taking a tuff target like that, a deer is gonna seem like the side of a barn. Good luck for the rest of the season!!

Congrats. Looking for my first trad kill this year too. I don't want to waste it on a nutria so I'm looking for deer or elk. Closest so far was a grouse also.. Several flushed around me as I was digging for the judo (had a full pack on) and one was wobbling on a this branch 12 yards away right over the trail... It staid there until I practically had a yard sale set up trying to get myself ready and then flew off. got my setup tuned a little better now. Nice shot by the way.
