QuoteTo me there is no need to own another bow unless I get a take down Classic Hunter [Big Grin]
Jeff, if you ordered it now you should have it for hunting season next year.   :readit: ...   ...   :biglaugh:

A happy man is he who sets forth to the swamp with a Shrew!!! We have 4 of them in this house, and although I truly love the silence and simplicity of the Shrew longbows, my favorite is the Li' Favorite recurve. Compact, quick, quiet, to me it is the ultimate hunting bow. I am SO excited that our bowseason starts in a couple of weeks. My Shrew has been staring at me from the wall for months, only being taken down a few times a week to stretch her limbs. The deer woods is where she belongs!!!!

Thanks, Jim.    Great looking bow, Konrad.  Now I am having second thoughts about the Samurai with so many great comments about the Lil' Favorite.

Art Vincent, traditional leather crafter just called me and said he was in a bind and had to sell his Super Shrew Samurai. He said it's like new, specks are, RH, 58", 46#@ 28" with Stag Tip overlays. The Samurai has all bamboo limbs with a Kingwood riser.

I'll post a new picture of my old Samurai in the morning.  It made meat out of a 250 pound black bear tonight.  I had a coveted Michigan Baldwin unit tag (2,200 hunters applying for 70 tags). I had the maximum number of preference points after 8 years of applying. It would take 30 years to get drawn again, so I wouldn't want any bow in my hands except my Samurai. It's now taken the Michigan Slam (deer, bear and turkey) since I got it in the fall of 1999. The bear made it 30 yards after the shot.

Ray,

Congratulations on the bear. I talked to your wife this evening and she said you were out bear hunting. I sent you an email telling you I hoped you would get a bear. I am glad to hear you did! I will look forward to getting your old Shrew Lite. Gregg tells me it was the ninth Shrew he built and now he is on number 248. Enjoy the thrill of completing the Michigan Slam!

Take care,
Allan

Here's Rays bear taken with his 55# Samurai. It looks like he's pretty happy....Ray, not the bear.   :D

Thanks guys.  I am a happy camper.  I had great friends that helped me all along the way with this one.  It makes it all the more special.

I have to explain the limb socks on the bow. My bow was made when Ron was using a shinier finish on his bows. My bear stand was right on the edge of a thick and nasty swamp. I was well covered with a pine tree, except on the upwind side which was the west. We've had clear sunny days and the setting sun was hitting me for the last two hours of daylight and I was fearful a bear eyeing me over from the security of the swamp might see the glare.  Anyway, you have to love it when a plan comes together.    :D    :D    :D
