First go with bamboo on a kids bow - came out nice!
« on: September 18, 2008, 07:05:00 PM »
This was my first go using bamboo in a kids bow.  I harvested the bamboo in FL about 2 yrs ago and decided to try it out.  This is a single lam glass bow that is 36" long with a kingswood handle and kingswood nocks.  It came out at 8# 15".  A little boy is just waiting for this to arive.  Thanks for looking.

Cool!  Any build along photos?  Want to start cranking out good, but easy kids bows one of these days.  One glass lam sounds good.   Steve

Steve, a 1/8" overall limb thickness including glass that's 1" wide and a 7" handle will get you about 8# @15".  A 3/16" overall limb thickess including glass will get you about 12# @15" - at least in my experiences.
