Who shoots one eye closed vs both open?

Wanting to see who shoots either way.  I seem more accurate with one closed versus both open.  What are your experiences.

I have shot for years with both eyes open, However I seem to have misplaced some vision in my dominant eye and am having to go back and forth If I dont get a clear picture I will close the off eye

As of this week I shoot with one eye open and I wish I had started doing this 10 years ago.
It turns out neither of my eyes is truly dominate.

If you have a real dominate eye you definitely want both eyes open.

The give away that you dont have a dominate eye is that your arrows tend to either hit dead on or significantly off to the left(if you shoot right handed) for no particular reason.

Of course before you decide you dont have a truly dominate eye you have to do the hole in the card test and make sure you are shooting from the side it indicates.
Wherever you went - here you are.

Both open here though every once in a while it seems more like both must be closed.

My shooting & sight picture scenario is probably a little different. I am right eye dominant and right handed, but my left eye is a lazy eye and also poorer vision in that eye. The thing is when I shoot and focus on the spot, my left eye (the lazy one) begins to focus, which seems to distort the overall sight picture. So right before I settle in to shoot I close my left eye. This works very well for me. For inside 20 to 30 yards perception really isn't an issue.
Someday you and I will take the Great Hart by our own skill alone, and with an arrow. And then the Little Gods of the Woods will chuckle and rub their hands and say, "Look, Brothers. An Archer! The Old Times are not altogether gone!"

Both open for a better sight picture and wider view of target.

Used to shoot with both open until I injured my right (dominant) eye and lost a little bit of vision in it. Now I need to close my left eye before releasing. That keeps me alined over the arrow with my dominant eye, otherwise I may switch focus and shoot 3 feet or so to the left.
At reasonable bow ranges, binocular vision is less important for depth perception than most folks realize.

I am left eye dominant and shoot right handed so I close the left eye.

I have always had both open. From shoot bow to fire arms, with & without a scope, even with the wheelie bow I had both open with sights.
