How I spent "my" day.....
« on: September 21, 2008, 08:14:00 PM »
Started out with a early, foggy outing for squirrels. Cade was up before first light and he'd stayed up late watching a movie last night. This was his idea of waiting for some action.....

I have no idea what he was aiming at here, but he had it in his sights......

Busted.....

Me and my boy......

Squirrels were all up high in trees, so we did the next best thing....stump shoot....

More coming...

More stumping....

Then we went just acrossed the road to check a trail cam I'd set right on a tree I plan to be hunting soon. Some does and fawns.....and a good "shooter" buck.....

Went home, had breakfast, went over some treestands, then headed with the family for a new farm festival. A friend I hadn't seen in years owns it. Not real big,but corn fields and apple orchards. Nice place for the family, hay rides, corn maze, the kids had a great time. Then I saw my friend, and after catching up a bit he said.......
"so when are you gonna come and kill some of my deer"......I did this    :goldtooth:    but on the inside I was doing this  :jumper:

It was a great day.....

Great day and check out the ole' roman nose on that buck!
I shoulda grabbed the camera yesterday as well.  Took my 10 year old son Tyler out "chipmunk huntin".  He was shooting his 22# GN critter getter longbow.  He was able to "tail" one- missed a couple of squirrels- and managed to smoke a pop bottle at about 14 yards...
said he didn't want to go to football practice tonight- wanted to go hunting again.....

Great pics buddy! Cade seems to have a natural talent for squirrel hunting. That first picture illustrates exactly how I do it.
