Question about a Black Widow PSR V Recurve
«

I'm having trouble with my new recurve and I need some advice. The bow is 55# @ 28 inches, it is 54" long. I have been shooting alot lately and have been very inconsistent with this bow, I drive tacks with my Loongbow, but am all over the place with this thing. Brace Height is 8 inches and my nock is about 1/2 inch high. My form is consistent but my arrow flight is not, any advice?

Maybe raise the brace ever so slightly. On the website it recommends 8 1/4 - 9 inches.
I wouldn't expect it to help a huge amount but might improve.

I have a 50lb 54" PSR. my brace height is 7 and 7/8 and I draw just over 26". I am shooting a 30 and 3/4" 3555 gold tip arrow with a 100 grain point. I have great arrow flight with mine. Have you bare shaft tuned your bow?

The recommended brace height for a PSR is 7 to 7.75". Mine shoots best near the lower end. 7.25" worked best for me. What is your draw length? 54" seems a bit short, specially if you been shooting longbows...Mike

Paying attention to your follow-thru is very important with the PSR, especially if you have a pull through type release. Also any inconsistent finger pressure on the draw can really make the bow jump around.
I was basically in the same boat. Mine is 56" and I initially found it much less forgiving than my longbows. Make sure you really push into the bow without "gripping" it at the release and hold it still until the arrow is in the target. Also, placing a piece of toothpick or velcro under the sideplate at the deepest part of the grip (which is right near the belly) will really help alot on that bow with any torque issues.
It just takes some getting used to shooting that shorter bow when you're used to the feel of a longbow. You can't get away with quite as much as you can with longer limbs.

exactly what Molson said. it's about you not the bow. The PSR shoots great, whatever the brace height. I had the same problem when I had one and started shooting it. Only when I remembered Howard Hill's words about release and follow thru did my problem go away. good luck

Nah, these guys are full of it. That bow will never shoot right for you. Heck, you probably won't be able to find anybody to take that junk bow off your hands.
You need to send it to me as soon as possible and I'll dispose of it for you. No charge. Hate to see a guy shooting the wrong bow....
It is right hand, right?

Seriously, I would love to have one. Maybe someday my paycheck will match my wants.
Wish I could help you out.
